I am a newbie to this. I did a ride but in the middle of the ride, I had to retrace my steps. I am trying to create a full ride that ignores the segment where I retraced my steps. I made two TCX files:
1. Start to point I turned around
2. When I was back at turnaround point and then continued on my merry way
The combined file includes basically stop time for those 28 minutes hat I do not want in the combined file. How do I do this?
This is the combined file in Garmin: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/6113567542 The dead time is about 38:24 to 1:09:37.
Many thanks to any and all who can help me!
Marc

Re: Combining two TCX files but cutting out a segment when I went back and forth
Hi Marc -
Thanks for your question. I looked at your file, and I see what you need to do. You have two TCX files. The first file is good, so you can just save it for later.
The start time of the 2nd file needs to be "time shifted" so that the start of the 2nd file matches the end time of the 1st file as shown in image below:
Step 1: Figure out the end time of the 1st file. Seems like you have already done that.
Step 2: Go to THIS TOOL FOR ADJUSTING TIMESTAMPS TO GPS FILES.
Step 3: Choose your 2nd File for upload.
Step 4: Do a Time-Shift of your 2nd file as shown in the image below.
Step 5: Go to the next page and export the file. Make sure that you export to your computer and do NOT upload to Strava.
Step 6: Take the file you just made and use the GPS FILE MERGE TOOL to join these two tracks together into one.
